Vail Series

For 30 years, the Vail name at Denison has been synonymous with unsurpassed quality in the arts. The establishing gift that started the Vail endowment was intended to enrich the artistic experience for all Denisonians, and the donor’s vision has been amply realized. Hundreds of artists have come to Granville. Some have long-established reputations while others have been recognized as rising talents whose careers bear watching.

On this occasion, the astonishing young vibraphonist-composer Stefon Harris joins the quintet in performing his new work created especially for the Imani Winds.

In demand throughout the music world ever since its 1990 premiere, the RNO, conducted by Patrick Summers, shares the stage with the "marvelously gifted" Yuja Wang, known for her "blazing technique and rare instinct for poetry." This performance marks Yuja’s fifth appearance at Denison University since 2004.
